Dubawi Cityscape
This project showcases N-Studio’s award-winning architectural designs for Dubawi by developer Northacre, a new skyscraper that will transform one of Dubai’s most dynamic and coveted neighbourhoods. And while Dubai leads the way in all things technological, dubbed ‘City of the Future’, our creation had to hold its own.
The magic
Our canvas was a scaled model of Dubawi, a perfect replica of every tier, every storey, each of its several hundred hotel rooms, apartments and penthouses. We also used surrounding screens to contextualise Dubawi, explore its location on the Sheikh Zayed Road and its proximity to Dubai’s bustling Business Bay area, bringing not just a building to life – but an entire city. We used 4K model mapping and LCD technology to create photo-real content and showcase the building in minute detail. And only by surrounding the model with three HD projectors could we achieve sufficient pixel power. Light beamed up the building’s golden surface, while surrounding screen projections revealed Dubawi’s views of the Arabian Gulf and Burj Khalifa.
This was not just model mapping. It was an entire immersive experience – lifting the veil on Dubawi in all of its heaven-defying glory, while celebrating Dubai’s eternal optimism, future-proof architecture and technological brilliance.
